Statistically, 2018 will be a particularly successful tourism year for Turkey. The number of domestic and foreign tourists increased by 18.5 percent to 36 million in the first nine months of the current year compared to the same period last year. Turnover from tourism increased by 14 percent to $ 23 billion in this period. Especially the number of visitors from Europe rose steadily. If this continues, around 45 million tourists will have visited Turkey by the end of 2018. Cultural tours to Turkey are particularly popular this year. The industry expects the trend to continue in 2019.
