For the 9th time, the International Christmas Market took place in Alanya on the 2nd Sunday of Advent, for the third time on the festival grounds behind the townhall. As every year, the visitor rush was great, despite the bad weather forecast. As always, the proceeds from the market will go to an organization for the disabled – noteworthy here was the fact that many commercial stalls had posted the information that the complete merit of the stand would be donated. The stands of the market become more varied, more imaginative and more beautiful every year. Remarkable was not only the mass of Turkish visitors, but also the interest in Turkish market stalls. Many clubs and small businesses had rented a stand and a lot of homemade socks, candles, pictures, mirrors and many more lovingly designed Christmas items were for sale.
