In response to an article by Yeni Alanya that the Tourism Minister had forgotten Gazipaşa Airport, the ministry’s press office issued a statement.
According to the information available, there was no talk about the future of Gazipaşa airport. This prompted the daily Yeni Alanya to write an article entitled, “The Minister has forgotten Gazipaşa.” In response to this article, the Press Office of the Ministry of Tourism issued a statement stating that: “ Following the agreement with the Ministry of Transport on 23 September 2019, capacity building and renovation of Antalya and Gazipaşa airports will be completed by June 2020. This will double Antalya’s total passenger capacity by the end of 2021. “
