The Police Directorate General in Turkey launched KADES in 2018, a sort of “emergency button” system for women. The app can be downloaded on the phone via Google Play Store or Apple Store.
With the Turkish identification number and a police activation code, every woman can register for free. In the event of a threat or physical violence against women, the emergency button can be activated via this app. The location and name of the person who pressed the emergency button are immediately forwarded to the nearest police unit / station.
