Lockdown in Turkey

The Turkish Ministry of Health initiated a lockdown from April 29, 2021, 7:00 p.m. to May 17, 2021, 5:00 a.m. Please note that banks and authorities will not be open or will be open to a very limited extent. Groceries can be bought Monday to Saturday between 10:00 am and 5:00 pm in shops within walking distance. This means that the entire rest of the month of fasting and the sugar festival (Ramazan Bayrami) are completely curfew. All exams will be postponed, all schools will be closed, home office will be compulsory as far as possible. Only markets for the basic supply may remain open; only the nearest market may be visited. Shopping centers are closed. Travel between cities / regions without compelling reason is prohibited, exceptions require approval. Intercity buses, trains and planes are only allowed to occupy 50% of the seats. IMPORTANT!! Unlike previous measures, accommodation reservations are NOT an exception to curfews and travel bans. Citizens who are unable to take to the streets to do their shopping can get help from relief teams. All jobs will cease operations, with the exception of companies involved in areas such as manufacturing, food, cleaning and health. ALL markets are closed on Sundays. Delivery service can still be offered in the catering sector. Our office will also remain closed for this time.
These exit restrictions do not apply to tourists and holidaymakers!
