Alanya will choose a new mayor and other functions at municipal level on 31 March. For the first time at the local elections in Turkey, there is a mayor candidate of non-Turkish origin for the city of Alanya. The political scientist and journalist Anastasia Petrova Cetinkaya, born in Murmansk in 1983, took Turkish nationality last year after having lived in Turkey for many years and was married to a Turk 8 years ago. Alanya, with its very high percentage of foreign residents, is a perfect city for it and has an incredible potential. The candidate indicates that she has prepared for the past three years to be a candidate in the local elections on 31 March. A bit of fresh wind in local politics would do our city very well.
