The countdown to the Gökbel Oil Wrestling Festival has begun. Hundreds of oil wrestlers come here every year to fight for victory.
The festival on the high plateau “Gökbel” starts on July 20 with the performances of famous Turkish artists. After that the oil wrestlers will compete for the best titles on the field. Mayor Adem Murat Yücel said: “Alanya comes first in terms of national and international events. Our goal is to keep this traditional sport of our ancestors alive and accessible to future generations.
