2019 was proclaimed the “year of the record” in Antalya. So far about 8 million tourists have arrived in Turkey via this destination. This means an increase of 15.9 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
According to figures from the provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate, between 1 January and 31 July 2019 8,193,924 tourists arrived in Turkey via the airports of Antalya and Alanya-Gazipaşa. This means an increase of 15.9 percentage points compared to the same period last year. In July alone, the number in direct comparison with the same month last year increased by 15.1 percent to 2,601,928 tourists. Russia is ahead of Germany and Ukraine in the first seven months of the current year.
