The British travel agency Thomas Cook became a purely online company on September 16, around a year after its collapse, which left 150,000 holidaymakers stranded at their holiday destinations.
The new Thomas Cook will sell vacation deals to destinations that are on the UK’s safe travel corridor list, including Turkey, Italy and Greece, the company said in a statement. The timing of the start of online business during the pandemic could raise eyebrows in many places, after all, many airlines and holiday companies were brought to their knees by the Corona crisis. This includes, for example, the world’s largest travel company TUI Group, which was only able to survive thanks to the support of the German government.
