In Turkey, the incumbent President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has won the presidential election according to official sources. “The results show that Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan received an absolute majority of valid votes,” said Head of the Electoral Commission Sadi Güven. Almost all votes have been counted. “The number of votes that have not been registered by the system has no influence on the outcome.” A second vote is therefore not necessary. What was surprising to many was that the turnout was 90%.
