The first floating solar installation in Turkey was put into operation on the Büyükçekmece lake in Istanbul. After a ceremony, the solar system has recently been officially put into use. The floating solar system is a joint project of the City of Istanbul and the Water and Sewerage Directorate in Istanbul. The plant currently produces a capacity of approx. 250 KW and consists of corrosion-free materials.
