An innovation in the urban transport system of the metropolitan area of Istanbul allows female passengers to leave public buses at night, even in places that are not explicitly designated as bus stops. This regulation has already been in force for every bus line since mid-November. After 10 pm bus drivers will be allowed to stop for women in the immediate vicinity of their destination, provided that the traffic conditions and the safety of the environment permit this. The service is definitely useful to women, helping them to reach their homes safer and faster.
