The decision, published in a Turkish official newspaper on 19.09.2018, has amended some rules concerning the transfer of foreigners to Turkish citizenship. Turkish citizenship is given directly to foreigners who buy at least $ 250,000 in property in Turkey. With such citizenship, the spouse and the minor children can also automatically acquire Turkish citizenship.
If you buy a property valued at more than $ 250,000, apply for Turkish citizenship at the Tapu office (Land Registry Office). This application is sent to the Ministry of Environment and Urbanization. The ministry blocks the sale of the real estate with a statement (satılamaz şerhi) so that you cannot sell it for 3 years. Then they send the application to the Directorate General for Population and Citizenship. You will be invited for the final signatures to get identity cards and a Turkish passport.
