Siemens gets important assignment for wind energy project in Turkey

Siemens has received an important assignment for a wind energy project in Turkey. The German-Turkish consortium of Siemens and Türkerler- Kalyon offered the lowest price for the tender with $ 3.48 per kilowatt hour. The project plans to build wind turbines with a total production of 1,000 megawatts in five regions of the country. Siemens plans to set up a wind turbine factory in Turkey. 80 per cent of the working engineers must be Turks according to the tender. The consortium will invest more than a billion dollars. The factories are expected to produce three billion kilowatt hours of electricity per year, enough to meet the needs of 1.1 million households.
