In addition to the beach vacation, Alanya will be a large ski area. The Akdag ski center is being built only 35 km from the city of Alanya. The idea of creating ski slopes near Alanya was discussed at the end of the last century. Construction began at this point, but was later frozen. Construction work continued in October 2016. Hundreds of workers are currently employed on the site to ensure the center is completed in 2020. The ski slopes of various types are built up to the top of the mountain. It is also said that there will be 26 chairlifts on offer and one cable car to Alanya. The ski center will include mini-hotels, spa centers and other facilities to enjoy various winter sports activities.
